68 Roundrobin Road is a single family
residence that consists of five bedrooms arranged within two cylindrical volumes, with a modest car shed located at the rear of the property.
The project transforms the existing car shed into a dynamic two-story addition that seamlessly integrates with the home’s mountain setting. The new structure introduces a garage and dedicated ski storage on the lower level, while the upper level creates a light-filled living space oriented toward sweeping views of Pico Mountain.
The form of the addition emerges from a series of folded planes inspired by the surrounding snowy landscape, with a diagonally set gable that gives the volume a distinctive profile. Constructed with a straightforward wood frame system, the design employs a layered shell—structural elements clad in wood and finished with an outer protective skin—bringing both durability and refinement. The result is a modern yet contextually rooted addition that elevates the home’s functionality and connection to its alpine environment.
